My Artist Statement

I use Photography and Printing to express my emotions and views of the World.

As a photographer comfortable with digital Photography, I created my analogue cameras, each with its own style and signature, which are reflected in the photographs.

My journey as a photographer is driven by an insatiable curiosity about the world, human emotions, nature’s beauty, and the subtle interplay of light and shadow in cities.

Photography is a medium of communication that transcends language barriers and cultural divides.

As a printmaker, my art is a dialogue between tradition and innovation. Each impression reflects a moment caught between the past and the present. My journey into printmaking began with relief printing and has now transitioned into intaglio printing. I am equally passionate about the classic etching process and the modern method, which uses a laser cutter for image transfer. Through my prints, I aim to evoke nostalgia, the beauty of the environment, and introspection on personal identity. My childhood gives me love for Renaissance and Art Nuevo, but my life experience gives me nights full of nightmares. Art helps me find a grotesque middle ground between them.

My creative process is systematic and experimental, allowing for a balance between precise planning and the serendipitous discoveries that occur in making each print. The layering of images, textures, and colours is central to my work, creating complex visual stories that invite viewers to delve deeper and uncover the nuanced interplay of elements.

Mixing Photography and printing has uniquely reflected my life, national identity, and contemporary art.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
